South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (SCPRT) Uses Sponsorships to Complement Non-Traditional Media for “Time to Thaw” Campaign
Phone booths with conch shells instead of handsets. A wall of hand dryers in the middle of a lobby. Stairwells that you can surf. These are just a few of the unexpected executions that were dreamed up for the "Time To Thaw" campaign that rolled out in Chicago during the Winter of 2008. The idea was simple. Chicago is brutally cold in February and March. South Carolina is warm. So the campaign was produced in an effort to remind people that warm temperatures and sunshine are just a short plane ride away in South Carolina. Here's an idea of how it looked and sounded.
